Working principle and application field of ultrasonic level gauge and ultrasonic thickness gauge

The working principle of the ultrasonic level meter is that the ultrasonic transducer (probe) emits high-frequency pulse sound wave, which is reflected when it meets the surface of the measured object level (or liquid level), and the reflected echo is received by the transducer and converted into electrical signal.  The propagation time of the sound wave is proportional to the distance from the sound wave to the surface of the object. The relationship between the sound wave transmission distance S and the sound speed C and the sound transmission time T can be expressed by the formula: S=C×T/2.  The ultrasonic level meter is non-contact type, which can be used in water supply, sewage treatment, mining, tunnel and quarrying industry, cement, chemical industry, papermaking and food industry and other industries to measure the level of various materials and liquids.

Ultrasonic thickness gauge is used to measure the thickness of materials and objects.  The ultrasonic thickness gauge is based on the principle of ultrasonic pulse reflection to measure the thickness, when the ultrasonic pulse sent by the probe reaches the material interface through the measured object, the pulse is reflected back to the probe, by accurately measuring the ultrasonic propagation time in the material to determine the thickness of the measured material.  This principle can be used to measure all kinds of materials in which ultrasonic waves can propagate at a constant speed.  Suitable FOR MEASURING THE THICKNESS OF metal (such as steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, etc.), plastic, ceramic, glass, glass fiber and any other good conductor of ultrasonic wave.
