Clamp on ultrasonic flow meter measures pipe material which must be uniform and homogeneous, such as HDPE, PE, PVC, carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, copper, and other pipes.
It can’t measure these pipes like fiberglass, asbestos, nodular cast iron and other similar pipes.
It isn’t also suitable for measuring corrugated pipes, Inner pipewall scaling pipes, obsolete or old pipes and heavily rusted pipes.
The pipe must be smooth and plat, for instance, corrugated pipe can’t measured for clamp on ultrasonic flow-meter.
If there is liner for the measured pipes, liner material is asked to be uniform and homogeneous, and with good acoustical conductivity.
Like galvanized pipes, coated asphalt pipes, asbestos coated pipes, these pipes are hard to measure for clamp on type ultrasonic flow meter.
In addition, if pipewall is too thick, it will affect the meter’s work.
