What is Modbus-RTU communication protocol of Lanry flow meter ?

Modbus protocol is a universal language used in electronic controllers.  Through this protocol, controllers can communicate with each other and with other devices over a network (such as Ethernet).  It has become a universal industry standard.  This protocol defines a controller that is aware of the message structure being used, regardless of the network over which they communicate.  It describes how a controller requests access to other devices, how to respond to requests from other devices, and how to detect and log errors.  It specifies the message domain schema and the common format of the content.  When communicating over a ModBus network, this protocol determines that each controller needs to know their device address, recognize messages sent by address, and determine what actions to take.  If a response is required, the controller generates a feedback message and sends it using ModBus.  On other networks, messages containing the Modbus protocol are converted to frame or packet structures used on that network.  This transformation also extends the network-specific approach to resolving section addresses, routing paths, and error detection.  The ModBus network has only one host and all traffic is routed by him.  The network can support up to 247 remote slave controllers, but the actual number of slave controllers supported depends on the communication equipment used.  Using this system, each PC can exchange information with the central host without affecting each PC to perform its own control tasks.

There are two modes to choose from in the ModBus system: ASCII (American information interchange code) and RTU (Remote Terminal Device).  Our products generally use RTU mode for communication, and each 8Bit byte in the message contains two 4Bit hexadecimal characters.  The main advantage of this method is that it can transmit more data at the same baud rate than the ASCII method.
