Ultrasonic flowmeter applications

With the improvement of industrial level and productivity, flow measurement has become an indispensable technology in many fields. Ultrasonic flowmeter is one of them, it is widely used in chemical, electric power, water supply and other industries. This paper will introduce the principle, characteristics and application of ultrasonic flowmeter.

Ultrasonic flowmeter is a non-contact flow measurement technology, the use of ultrasonic probes to emit a beam of high-frequency sound waves to the liquid medium, sound waves in the liquid propagation will be affected by the flow of liquid, resulting in changes in its propagation speed. The ultrasonic probe can also receive these changes and calculate the flow and velocity of the liquid by processing the resulting signal.

Ultrasonic flowmeters usually consist of two probes, one for transmitting sound waves and the other for receiving them. Our doppler flowmeter can transmit and receive ultrasonic signal at the same time. The transmitting probe works in the high frequency range. In order to ensure the measurement accuracy, the probe of the ultrasonic flowmeter is generally made of high-precision crystal materials.

As a non-contact flow measurement technology, ultrasonic flowmeter has many characteristics and advantages. First, it does not require the liquid medium to be in direct contact with the probe, so any form of damage or contamination to the liquid can be avoided. Secondly, because the ultrasonic signal is used, it can adapt to a variety of different media, such as water, oil, gas, and so on. In addition, ultrasonic flowmeters also have the characteristics of high precision, fast response, stability and reliability, which can meet the high requirements for flow measurement in many industrial fields.

Ultrasonic flowmeters have a wide range of applications. For example, in the chemical industry, it can be used to measure the flow of various liquid media, including acid lye, solvents, corrosive liquids, etc. In the water supply industry, it can be used to measure the flow of tap water, waste water, hot water, etc. In the power industry, it can be used to measure the flow of liquid coolant, as well as the circulating water flow inside the unit.
