Requirements for front and rear straight pipe sections
1. Requirements for the front straight pipe section
(1) At the inlet of the electromagnetic flowmeter, it must be ensured that there is a straight pipe section, and the length should be at least 10 times the diameter of the pipe.
(2) In the front straight pipe section, there can be no elbow, tee and other accessories. If elbows, tees, etc. are provided in the front straight pipe section, their length must be greater than or equal to the length of the pipe diameter.
(3) If the emergency closing valve and regulating valve are provided in the front straight pipe section, the length should be ensured to be greater than or equal to the length of the pipe diameter.
2. Requirements for the rear straight pipe
(1) At the outlet of the electromagnetic flowmeter, it must also be ensured that there is a straight pipe section, the length should be the same as the length of the front straight pipe section, that is, it should also be 10 times the diameter of the pipe.
(2) In this straight back pipe section, there can be no elbow, tee and other accessories, and the length should be ensured to be greater than or equal to the length of the pipe diameter.
(3) If the emergency closing valve and regulating valve are set in the back straight pipe section, the length shall be greater than or equal to the length of the pipe diameter.
Third, the reason for the front and back straight pipe section
The role of the front and back straight pipe section is to stabilize the flow rate at the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter, which is one of the key factors to ensure the measurement accuracy and reliability of the electromagnetic flowmeter. If the flow rate at the inlet and outlet is not stable, the measurement results will be inaccurate.
In practical applications, if the requirements of the front and back straight pipe segments cannot be met, the flowmeter model can be larger, or the flow regulator can be installed to achieve the purpose of accurate measurement.
