TF1100-EC Wall-mounted Transit Time Ultrasonic Flow meter works on the transit-time method. The clamp-on ultrasonic transducers (sensors) are mounted on the external surface of the pipe for non-invasive and non-intrusive flow measurement of liquid and liquefied gasses in fully filled pipe. Three pairs of transducers are sufficient to cover the most common pipe diameter ranges. In addition, its optional thermal energy measurement capability makes it possible to carry out a complete analysis of thermal energy usage in any facility.
This flexible and easy to use flow meter is the ideal tool for the support of service and maintenance activities. It can also be used for the control or even for the temporary replacement of permanently installed meters.
Transit Time ultrasonic flow meter measure the time it takes for an ultrasonic signal transmitted from one transducer to cross a pipe and be received by a second transducer.Upstream and downstream time measurements are compared. Without liquid flowing, the transit time would be equal in both directions.Together with liquid flowing, the sound will travel faster in the direction of flow and slower against the flow.High accuracy 1% ultra flow meter required is quite typical when two transducers could be mounted on a pipe section with evenly distributed flow.Because the accoustic signal must cross the pipe to a receiving transducer, the fluid is just for pure water or a little dirty water ,and don't contain a significant concentration of bubbles or solids ( for wastewater treatment you could choose another type ultrasonic flowmeter Doppler effect).Otherwise the high frequency sound will be attenuated and too weak to traverse the pipe.
As for application of this type wall mounting ultrasonic flow meters include potable water, cooling water, hot water, sea water, salt water ,treated water ,water glycol solutions, hydraulic chemicals liquids and so forth.
